The Avala Tower complex, managed by PE Transmitters and communications, became one of the most attractive tourist destinations of Belgrade in 2017, primarily due to numerous new contents that enriched the visit of Avala.
“We are extremely proud that the Avala Tower, which is the most important telecommunication facility in the country, attracted a record number of visitors this year, almost 155,000. This is about 15% more visitors than in the previous four years. Therefore, we are planning to organize a lot of interesting program next year, which will make to people from Belgrade and also to tourists a stay in Avala even more pleasant “, emphasized Branko Gogić, acting director of PE Transmitters and communications.
On the plateau beneath the tower next year, a summer stage with audience seats will be installed, where concerts and theater performances will be organized during the summer. Our plans are also to place wooden stalls, where home-made and healthy products from households from villages under Avala will be found, and fairs, bazaars and promotions of ethno products will be organized with the most diverse offer for tourists.
“We are sure that the investments that will be realized in 2018 will result in an even bigger visit, with the goal of moving the boundaries of the record from year to year,” concluded Gogic.
This year, on the open part of the complex, there were also built multifunctional sports fields for small football, handball and basketball with appropriate lighting and stands; an outdoor gym that is fully equipped with exercise equipment, carpet grass and fountains; a children’s playground with a café for parents; necessary lift was built for people with special needs and mothers with strollers, which transport visitors from the bottom of the tower to the access ramp. All necessary works on the rehabilitation of facilities, plateaus were completed, and access roads have been built which enable better connection and tourist tour.
Also, there is a modern and closed space with a new sales counter for selling tickets and other tourist and catering facilities: tourist info center and souvenir shop of the Tourist Organization of Serbia, Avala Cafe and a special space for organizing various events.
The Avala Tower was and remains the most beautiful symbol of Belgrade.
