In the length of about 1,500 m, the employees of JP “Srbijašume” are working on a complete reconstruction of the footpath from the bottom of Avala to the church of the holy despot Stefan Lazarević (not far from the tower). We learned that the new path, at the request of the Blind Association from Belgrade, will be adapted to this category of people, which means that it will be tiled, marked with a braille, with benches. What is the importance of reconstructing of this pedestrian track for the Avala Tower itself, shows that now about 150 people a day (more at weekends) use this path to come to the most beautiful viewpoint. In addition to mountaineering associations, a large number of citizens and recreationists, are increasingly coming through this wooded road. In mid-September, a hiking campaign “Walking to Health” is traditionally held. This year the new hiking trail. Bearing in mind that the GSP line with the 400 mark only runs until the end of August, the opportunity will be to recreate on Avala more and more often, and “warm up” before going to the sports grounds on the tower complex that are free of charge at your service..
